Looking for some great Canmore vegetarian options? When you have dietary needs, traveling or visiting a new place can be hard. I know this first hand, since not only is my wife celiac (gluten-free), but we are also vegetarians.
Choosing to be a vegetarian is a major life decision and one I couldn’t be happier about. Whether you do it to live a healthy lifestyle, reduce animal suffering, or simply to save money – being a vegetarian is a great way to eat and still gives you so many options for delicious meals and snacks.
This is by no means an extensive list of every restaurant in Canmore that offers vegetarian fare. It is, however, a collection of a few favourites from a savvy local. I hope you find somewhere fantastic to eat tonight!
Canmore’s Communitea is a favourite with locals and visitors alike! Their mission is “Keeping Canmore Fresh, Healthy & Vibrant.” This Restaurant is more like a community hub (hence the name), with local goods for sale, a great atmosphere to hang out in, plus they even do events such as live music & readings in the evenings sometimes. They have an extensive drink & pastry selection (try a Maple Latte!), plus vegetarian options for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
Favourite Vegetarian Options: there’s almost too many to choose! For breakfast try their Plant-PowerWICH, go for their Yoga Bowl for dinner, or take a Mountain Veggie Wrap to go for your hike!
Crazyweed is a real Canmore experience! The food here is so fabulous, it was even featured on Food Network’s “You Gotta Eat Here.” I have to agree! Crazyweed Kitchen is all about cooking Globally – right here in Canmore. Get ready for a fantastic experience from their senior staff. They definitely know what they’re doing, and will ensure you have a meal to remember for your time in the Mountains!
Favourite Vegetarian Options: Most of their vegetarian options fall under “small plates” – but thats a good thing, because you can just try more! Go for the Labneh, Upbeet or Charred Broccoli before digging into their Goddess Salad for your main course.
4296 is one of the newest restaurants in Canmore. Nestled right downtown, this beautiful eatery is the brainchild of creator-chef Blake Flann. They have a huge emphasis on amazing cocktails – many of which are definitely Intstagram-worthy! Their food is inspired by the world food scene – and it shows. 4296 is a great place to try something new!
Favourite Vegetarian Options: Go for the brulee halloumi (if you eat cheeses), or try the “beef” kebab – don’t worry, its Beyond Beef. Indulge in some crispy patatas bravas, or make it a full dinner with their paella. Pairing anything with one of their artisan cocktails (like the Essex Green) will ensure you can’t go wrong!
I hope you find something delicious for dinner tonight! Whether its your first time visiting Canmore or you’re a repeat visitor, why not take a look at the housing market while you’re here? Not only is Canmore a world-class place to live, its also a great property market to invest in. Let’s connect over some vegetarian bites today!
